I absolutely recommend my builder. I loved the first house I built with him so much that I had him build me another one. I interviewed a lot of other builders, but found all but Blume to be like the cell phone companies - you have to read the small print and talk to someone about their service before buying. I trust Bob Blume completely and my main contact was his daughter who is just like us! She was in the corporate world but gave it up to raise her two small children (she brings them to work). Blume Construction is the name and they are trustworthy, upfront and very experienced. I just refinanced my house and didn't even require an appraisal because everyone knows his quality. He has a website www.blume.com. Theresa, you have been in my house, but if you want a refresher just look under any of the pictures on the website that say "Quinn". I also give tours if you don't mind walking around a few exersaucers etc.! Michelle Quinn

Yesterday evening I was at the home to plant trees and picked up the rocks for awhile and today morning I went and picked some--but I know what I did was not even 40%--I know people are coming to put sod today--I know we want the home to look good for the Parade of Homes--but at the same time we do not want sod on top of the rocks--long run it will not grow well. "In 1989 when we decided to build our first new home, we didn't know any builders. A home was being constructed on adjoining property. We inquired about the builder and began the process of choosing who would build our home. We interviewed two other builders in the process. The reason we chose Blume Construction for our first home was the thoroughness of the contract. Bob Blume wants to make sure his customer is happy with their new home. No other contractor we were in contact with had the details of Blume's contract. In 1993 we purchased another piece of property. We immediately called Bob Blume about building a second home for us. On our first appointment we found our second dream home from the many books and plans he has. We never considered another builder. The experience was again pleasant. Several friends and neighbors commented on the quality of workmanship and materials as our home was being constructed. While we loved this one our retirement was nearing and our plans were to move to Tennessee. We sold our lovely home and rented a duplex in preparation. In 1999 our retirement plans changed and we decided to remain in central Illinois. We again went to Blume Construction. This time we had no property to build on. Bob knew of some property sites and after looking at two of them, we chose our current location. Blume Construction built our third home. We are completely happy with Blume Construction and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to build a home. If we had to describe them in one word it would be 'integrity'. Our home I just wanted to write to let you know, your quality construction really paid off last winter. A while back some friends and I were talking about the high cost of heating bills and I was amazed to find out that their bill was nearly double that of ours for the same period of time. We both have very similar style of houses and both were built in the same year as well as we both like to keep the thermostat set at a comfortable level. "It has been just over one year since we took possession of our home, and although I've kept waiting for things to go wrong, or to see things that I didn't like, and of course dreaded the expected battle working through the fixes...there has been absolutely nothing major that needed to be done! The quality construction and craftsmanship shows throughout the home, the design is extremely functional, the energy efficiency has provided us with utility bills that are comparable with the bills we paid in our previous home (which was about 1/2 the square footage)--in short, our home is a place of which we are very proud. Throughout the construction process you and your subcontractors made every effort to keep communication lines open. Everyone was extremely responsive to our design requirements; our requests were considered and other options were presented where it made economic sense (I suspect some contractors might have just rubbed their hands together, taken the money, and run--but you didn't and we appreciate that very much).
